Sharpsburg, GA is a quaint, rural town nestled in eastern Coweta County. It is perfectly situated between Newnan and Peachtree City. 

History & Heritage
Founded in 1825 and incorporated in 1871, Sharpsburg was named after Judge Elias Sharp, one of its earliest residents. The town grew around a railroad depot that once connected it to the Savannah, Griffin, and North Alabama Railroad — a symbol of its early agricultural prosperity. Cotton farming dominated the landscape, and the town bustled with cotton gins, blacksmiths, banks, and doctors. Like many Southern towns, it weathered the Great Depression and saw population shifts as agriculture declined, but it has steadily grown since the 1940s.
